You can then access the installation files for either Windows or Mac. Scroll upwards and select from the tabs Windows or Mac OSX.
NB! For Windows: After downloading the zip-file you need to extract it to a folder before opening the installation file. Right click and choose Extract all.
Make sure that you've actually extracted and saved both the files ENX20Inst.msi and License.dat BEFORE you go to My Computer to start the installation file ENX8Inst.msi.
Close all other applications before starting the installation.
Open Word when you have finished the installation, the EndNote X9 tab should now appear in the menu.
It is not recommended to save your EndNote library on a cloud-based service (Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud etc) or a network disc because the library can be damaged. Clarivate recommends to save the library on a local hard drive (C:\) and backup the library by syncing it to EndNote Online.

After you have installed EndNote to your computer, open the program.
1. Create a new EndNote library by selecting: File -> New.
2. The default location for your EndNote library is under "My documents", but you may choose to store it somewhere else on your computer. Also, you may change the name from "My EndNote library" to something else. We recommend that you only have one EndNote library with all your references. See "Create Groups and Smart Groups" to create subsets of your references.
