There are several group options:
1. Groups: Manually drag and drop references into the group.
2. Smart groups: References are added to the group based on a predefined search.
3. Group set: Add groups and smart groups (sub groups) to a group "heading".
1. Go to the top menu and choose Groups -> Create Group.
2. Name your group, in this example Thesis.
3. Now you can drag and drop references from your list of "All References" into the group.
1. Go to Groups -> Create Smart Group.
2. Name the group and define the search. The group will automatically update with new references you add to your EndNote library that match your predefined search.
1. Go to Groups -> Create Group Set.
2. Name the Group Set and drag groups into the group set (= sub groups).
3. A new heading appears in the left menu.
