How to download plug-ins

NB! Please note that not all plugins may not be available in Zotero 7 yet.

Zotero has a list of plug-ins that give you enriched information to your Zotero library. These are also called add-ons.  You can find the list here: Plugins for Zotero

Download a plug-in:

  1. Go to the list above and click the desired plug-in.
  2. Download it on your machine.
  3. In Zotero, go to Tools -> Plugins
  4. Here's an overview of which add-ons you've installed
  5. Go to the gear on the right to install the downloaded file: from Install Plugins from File:

ZoteroPreview

This plugin creates an additional tab in Zotero, where you get a preview of how the reference will appear in a reference list based on the style you have currently selected.

You can download the file from here under the heading "ZoteroPreview". Scroll down to the middle of the page:

This is how it will appear in Zotero after downloading: first how it will look in the bibliography and second the in-text citation ("Individual citation"). At the bottom of this tab view, there is also a function for copying the reference.

The
information in this plugin is taken from Smart Citations. Here's what they say about what Smart Citations is:
"Smart Citations allow users to see how a scientific paper has been cited by providing the context of the citation and a classification describing whether it provides supporting or disputing evidence for the cited claim."
Here's how:
