Import from Word

It's possible to import reference lists from Word or plain text to Zotero. This can be done by using the tool Anystyle.io. Just copy and paste from a document, and the tool will parse the text and convert it to a format that can be imported into Zotero.

Converting text

  1. Copy the text you want to convert.
  2. Go to Anystyle.io and paste it into the Parse-field.
  3. Save the parsed text in the BibTex-format.

Import the BibTex-file to Zotero

  1. Go to Zotero.
  2. Choose File -> Import.
  3. You will get the prompt Where do you want to import from? Choose A FIle (BibTex, Zotero, RDF, etc.) and click Next.

  4. Choose to insert the references into a new Collection. Under File Handling, choose Copy files to the Zotero Storage folder.

  5. The references will be imported. Check the quality of the references and edit if you find something missing or wrong.
