It's possible to import reference lists from Word or plain text to Zotero. This can be done by using the tool Anystyle.io. Just copy and paste from a document, and the tool will parse the text and convert it to a format that can be imported into Zotero.
Converting text
- Copy the text you want to convert.
- Go to Anystyle.io and paste it into the Parse-field.
- Save the parsed text in the BibTex-format.
Import the BibTex-file to Zotero
- Go to Zotero.
- Choose File -> Import.
- You will get the prompt Where do you want to import from? Choose A FIle (BibTex, Zotero, RDF, etc.) and click Next.

- Choose to insert the references into a new Collection. Under File Handling, choose Copy files to the Zotero Storage folder.

- The references will be imported. Check the quality of the references and edit if you find something missing or wrong.
